Gay Indie Boys and Girls
I’m sorry if this kind of thing isn’t allowed in this community, but I figured because of the nature of the community that this post might be welcome.
My friend Joey Comeau and I are publishing a book that he wrote. The easiest way to describe it is to say it’s about queer terrorism. Here’s a review from bluefood.cc: The narrator is young, angry, and queer. In addition to the usual young, angry, queer things to be angry about, the narrator is also quite pissed off about the rigidity of roles and relationships in the GLBT community. He wants to do something to make things right in the world, to balance out the benefits being given to some and the hate being spewed at others. The narrator and his group of friends conspire to create the perfect way to change the heterosexist view held by our society as a whole, or maybe just gain acceptance and understanding. Yeah, there is social and political commentary in the story, but it also contains hilarious lines like, "I made myself a t-shirt that says "I break into heterosexual houses so I can masturbate in their heterosexual kitchens.”
About Joey, they also said “This is … what would've happened if Kathy Acker had a dick and an attention span.”
